Chevy Volt 2010 Electric Car

The Chevy Volt concept car was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in 2007 in Detroit. This would be the first hybrid car that plugs in to charge. It is said that Chevy has used the E-flex propulsion systems to make a car that will provide gas mileage per gallon in the triple digits. Chevy announced that the car could travel for about 640 miles without a need to stop and refuel or plug into an outlet for electricity. This could be the new age for travelers who are stuck spending hundreds of dollars to fill up the gas tank and travel by car.

Chevy Volt

The concept car will be great for long drives, sixty-mile trips or short commutes. Chevy has calculated the savings for gas at five hundred gallons per year. That could be a savings of eighteen hundred dollars or more depending on what the cost of gas is when the car hits the showrooms. The downside for some might be the rise in electrical use, which could be three hundred dollars or so. Chevy has said that the nanophoshate-based batteries will provide safer operations, longer life and higher outputs than the lithium-ion batteries. This along could prove worthwhile for consumers.

The All New Orlando

The Orlando is Chevy's Multi-Purpose Vehicle concept and a signal that Chevy is expanding its portfolio into the important MPV segment. It combines the best attributes of an SUV, a family van and a station wagon into a single vehicle on a compact frame for greater efficiency. The Orlando MPV has five doors and seats up to seven comfortably with theater-style seating in three rows. The seats fold flat and easily transform into ample cargo capacity. The secret to this incredible interior space is the engineering: the long wheelbase and wide track create additional room inside. Chevy designers were just as meticulous with the outside appearance. The Orlando has a distinctive contrast between the hood and the windshield lines and flared fenders for a confident stance that cuts an attractive silhouette. Chevy Orlando is one of the more intriguing concept stars at future auto shows.

Chevrolet Spark

Coming to America in 2011, drivers will get a jolt from the all new Chevy Spark. The Spark is Chevy's upcoming entry in the Mini-Car segment. Although a mini, the four-seat Spark will come standard with four doors for easy entry. Its fresh, clean approach to interior and exterior design, materials and colors is sure to ignite a passion for its looks alone. But the Spark's true mission is to combine multifunctionality with extreme fuel economy thanks to its well-designed 4-cylinder gasoline engine. It's one more example of Chevy's commitment to be the industry leader in fuel efficiency.

2009 Silverado Two-Mode Hybrid Pickup

Introducing the 2009 Silverado Two-Mode Hybrid pickup
We've spent 90 years making trucks that get the job done right, the first time, every time. And, after years of building the most dependable, longest-lasting trucks on the road,(1) we're now the first manufacturer to bring you a production two-mode hybrid full-size pickup. The 2009 Chevy Silverado Two-Mode Hybrid (scheduled to begin production late 2008, with limited availability) is expected to provide the same dependability, power and performance you demand in a Chevy Truck. Plus, it's expected to feature cutting edge technology to help you through the rigors of your everyday life while being conscious of the environment. In the first mode, at low speed and light load, the vehicle can operate in three ways: electric power, engine power, or in any combination of electric and engine power. When operating with electric power, it provides all the efficiency of a full hybrid system. The second mode is used primarily at highway speeds to optimize efficiency. It provides electric assist in addition to four-cylinder or full eight-cylinder power when conditions demand it, such as trailer towing and climbing steep grades. Put another way, you'll experience the benefit of excellent efficiency while also having access to plenty of horsepower and torque. In either mode, it's a truck that works in the real world when being driven by real people and is one of the many ways Chevy is working to produce a variety of fuel solutions.
